Dr. Rona P. Shapiro and Dr. Alec Land at Their Farm

   Dr. Rona Shapiro was raised in Maryland.  She graduated from the University of Maryland in 1979 with a B.S. Degree in Animal Sciences.  After working as a herdsman on a dairy farm, and obtaining her Master of Science degree in Biochemistry, she attended and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987.  Since that time, she and her husband, Dr. Alec Land, have co-owned the Groveport Canal Animal Hospital.  Dr. Shapiro's primary interest include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

   

   Dr. Land attended undergraduate school at The College of Wooster (B.A. in Chemistry), graduate school at Miami University (M.S. in Zoology), and veterinary school at The Ohio State University.  He graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1985.  His primary interests currently include advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. He practices at the The Diley Hill Animal Emergency Center and Easton Animal Hospital which he co-owns with Dr. Shapiro.

     Doctors Shapiro and Land have two daughters.  Their oldest daughter Rebecca is studying Pre Veterinary Medicine at the University of Dayton.  Kimberly, their youngest, is still in high school and plans to study Human Medicine when she attends college. They enjoy spending time as a family, caring for their horse farm, and serving the community through the Groveport Madison Lions Club. They have one dog, four cats, and two horses.

 
Dr. Amy Schnipke

 Dr. Amy Schnipke grew up in the small town of New Washington, Ohio. In the 6th grade she had a science fair project on animal behavior; from there she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. Dr. Amy graduated from The Ohio State University in 1998 with a B.S. in horticulture and then in 2003 from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her main interests include dermatology and internal medicine. Dr. Amy and her husband Mark's family include two small young boys, Owen and Will, Bogey a Golden Retriever and Cora a Border Collie. Outside of work she enjoys spending time as a family and cooking or baking.
